Program Description
A Journey Into Sound is the gallery’s night time, immersive listening program, a collaboration with guest selectors on an extended sound system experience. Playing at the intersection of chill-out room looseness and deep-listening concentration, DJs guide a heady musical journey.
The opening AJIS will be mapped out by the DJ partnership of Carina Cha and Alan Watt, as a constellation of dub, techno, ambient, house, leftfield beats, and exhilarating electronic experimentalism. Cha DJs under the name in.fluence for Freeform Portland radio, and Watt is a longtime vinyl collector, veteran selector, and member of the Passenger Seat Records team.

Carina Cha blends her background in the arts and journalism with a lifelong passion for music and inner healing work. Exploring this intersection of culture and healing, Carina is inspired by how sound and texture can shape experience.
Alan Watt has been DJing for over 20 years, sharing tracks in places like San Francisco and Portland. He focuses on thoughtful selections and creating environments for people to enjoy.
