Presented by Mono Space, this Album Listening Session features John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, the four-part 1965 suite that joined the searching language of his classic quartet to an explicitly devotional purpose. Recorded with the classic quartet (McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones) the album moves from the opening invocation of “Acknowledgement” through “Resolution,” “Pursuance,” and “Psalm,” balancing disciplined structure with improvisation, repetition, and mounting intensity.

Coltrane conceived the work as an expression of gratitude following a spiritual awakening, and the music still carries the force of that commitment. The audience will experience the album in full, uninterrupted, on the Mono Space OJAS soundstage.

Tickets go on sale 9/17 at 12pm.

The Listening Experience

This program is part of Mono Space’s intentional listening series, a focused format centered around the OJAS hi-fi sound system. Sessions are part dialogue, and part listening, guided by a host offering context and reflections as the music unfolds. Visitors will be seated, and the program will last 60 to 90 minutes, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to the start time (Doors at 7PM, Program at 7:30). Seating is on a first-come, first serve basis.

Minimal photography is encouraged. Guests are welcome to capture a moment, but are asked to keep photography unobtrusive. This is a scroll-free space—please step outside for phone use.

Guests are asked to speak softly and keep conversation to a minimum. Non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase before and after the program. Our gift shop will also be open.
