Mono Space presents Gallery Hours, curated by Disco Diablo. They describe their program as “An intentional sonic invocation where Afro-Latin rhythms and jazz dissolve the boundaries of time and space. Curated with care, each selection functions as a transmission, channeling ancestral frequencies, present-day consciousness, and future sonic worlds. The music moves beyond listening into ritual, carrying memory, resistance, and joy. This curation honors lineage, amplifies emerging voices, and preserves the encoded wisdom etched into every groove, offering a space for connection, discovery, and reverence for the sounds that continue to shape and carry culture."
About Disco Diablo
Disco Diablo is a multidisciplinary artist and selector known for curating immersive musical journeys that cut across genres, moods, and eras. Guided by an intuitive ear and deep cultural connection the sounds they share, Disco Diablo approaches DJing as both storytelling and preservation, honoring musical lineages while bringing them into the present.
As the host of Manteca on KMHD, you can hear them on Wednesday evenings digging deep into Afro-Latin rhythms and soulful textures. Beyond the airwaves, Disco Diablo co-organizes a monthly cumbia dance party and fundraiser at Mississippi Records, creating space for community, movement and culture. At the heart of it all their mission is simple: sharing music with others and keeping the musical spirit alive.
