GALLERY HOURS
The Music of D'Angelo

Community Access

In the wake of the recent passing of D’Angelo (1974–2025), Mono Space will present a day-long tribute to the beloved artist by featuring the four magnificent albums that he gave to the world (Brown Sugar, Live at the Jazz Cafe, Voodoo, and Black Messiah). This special Gallery Hours curation will also include his notable collaborations, remixes, and rarities.

Throughout the day, we will also share some of the music of his contemporaries, particularly the other classic recordings that were created alongside Voodoo at Electric Lady Studios during the legendary sessions led by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and featuring the music collective that became known as The Soulquarians.

For the Winter 26 programming season, Mono Space will present a formal retrospective program of D’Angelo’s music to take place on and around the artist’s birthday on February 11th.
