Over the last two decades, the London scene has turned out a run of records that mix jazz with Afrobeat, soul, reggae, and hip-hop, most of them played live by full bands. This Gallery Hours starts with the seminal compilation We Out Here, then moves from records driven by big horn sections toward quieter, more spacious music.
Across five hours, the program follows the range and momentum of this scene, with each record presented on the Mono Space OJAS sound system.
The Listening Experience
Gallery Hours are free and open to the public, and offer an open way to experience Mono Space and the OJAS high fidelity sound system. The program lasts from Noon - 5PM, with doors opening at Noon. Guests are welcome to arrive at any point to spend time with the system, browse the library and gift shop, purchase beverages, and listen to a rotating selection of curated recordings. Seating is on a first-come, first serve basis. If we reach capacity, a line will form, and guests will be admitted on a one-out, one-in basis.
Minimal photography is encouraged. Guests are welcome to capture a moment, but are asked to keep photography unobtrusive. This is a scroll-free space—please step outside for phone use.
Guests are asked to speak softly and keep conversation to a minimum.
Details about visiting the space, accessibility, and ticketing can be found in the FAQs.
