JADALAREIGN, an influential presence as a DJ in underground dance music and a central figure in Brooklyn’s ongoing nightlife renaissance, joins us for our Fall 25 season finale with Selections No. 4.

As a DJ, educator, and community archivist JADALAREIGN grounds her work in the history of dance music and its origins in Black, Latinx, and queer communities. As an event curator, she works to ensure that the DJ booth and the dance floor are homes for these same communities, while also seeking to expand the presence of women and femmes within dance music spaces.

Selections No. 4 will see JADALAREIGN diverge from the demands of the dancefloor, utilizing the OJAS system and the intentional listening format to share an eclectic range of personal favorites. Yet the program will still be informed by the same values that underpin her clubs sets: liberation, education, and upliftment.

About Selections

The Selections series is equal parts DJ set and dialogue, where creative practitioners utilize the mix as a medium for sharing both their personal histories and reflections on how music culture has shaped their lives.

About JADALAREIGN

To anyone who devotedly follows her, JADALAREIGN's meteoric rise in New York's underground scene comes as no surprise. The New York native's staunch effort to preserve the origins of Black American dance music has made her synonymous with the city's emergent house renaissance.

Her expansive mixes are suffused in an indefinable funk, rifling through house history and techno—punchier sounds occasionally softened by hazy soul and sumptuous jazz. It's a dynamic and encyclopedic style that looks to the Northeast, the Midwest, and the diaspora to pay tribute to the Black musicians, old and new, who crafted this culture from the ground up.
