About Tucker Martine

Tucker is an American record producer, mixer, engineer, musician, and composer based in Portland, Oregon. He is known for an innovative production style that blends experimental techniques, field recordings, and genre-defying elements, shaped by early influences from Nashville’s music scene and studies in experimental sound at the Naropa Institute.

Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Martine has collaborated with a wide range of prominent indie, folk, and alternative artists, including The Decemberists, Neko Case, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, Mavis Staples, Laura Veirs, First Aid Kit, Spoon, and Madison Cunningham. Martine is also the owner and operator of Flora Recording & Playback.

The Listening Experience

This program is part of Mono Space’s intentional listening series, a seated, focused format centered around the OJAS hi-fi sound system. Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, with 30 minutes of open listening before and after. Up to 50 guests gather in a shared setting to experience curated recordings, guided by a host who offers context and reflections as the music unfolds. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. Phones and cameras are set aside to support attention and presence.
